Our Sixth Anniversary

Six Years! It's hard to believe it has been that long... 2 states and 2 kids later...

We had a great anniversary weekend! Lauren came to spend the weekend with the kids, and we headed out!

We went to Seaport Village first. It was nice to be able to go in stores and not worry about a stroller or (worse) a double stroller! Then, that afternoon we went on a food tour of North Park (a Christmas gift from Liz!). It was awesome!

So delicious!

Next, we headed to the hotel, The Hilton Bayfront. Super nice. 22nd floor!

We hung out by the bayfront pool in the nice weather, went to the Gaslamp district for chips and queso, had a Ghiradelli sundae, walked along the water, and even got to see some fireworks!

The next morning, we woke up and headed to Mission Bay for paddleboarding and beach time!

Overall, we had a wonderful time! It was a great way to spend our anniversary! And, of course, we were happy to come back to this:

Fourth of July Fun

Happy 4th of July!

We went to the zoo in the beautiful weather and had some great views of the animals!

After the zoo, we came back, cooked out, and played outside!

On the 5th of July, we went to Newport Beach. It was really pretty!

The kids are getting so big! It's crazy!

Beach Party!

Blake went to a friend's birthday party for the first time! It was Presley's 2nd birthday, and it was a beach party in Del Mar! We played in the sand, had snacks, pizza, and cupcakes! It was so much fun!

Being Tourists

Will we ever stop looking like and being like tourists now that we live in SoCal? I'm feeling like no...

Alex's mom (Liz), Auntie Anne, Bob, and Fae came to visit us! We did all kinds of touristy things, prompting my previous question! We went to the beach, of course. Specifically, we went to the beach in Del Mar for lunch one day, then, our usual, Mission Beach, to hang out for the day. We also went to Seaport Village. But, in addition, to all of our typical touristy favorites, we did something new! We went to Catalina Island! We left out of Long Beach on the Catalina Express and spent the day there! The kids did great! We played in the sand, shopped, ate, rented a golf cart, and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. Here's a picture of Lauren and me starting the day out right with mimosas!

We also saw the Queen Mary as we were headed to Catalina!

Here are a few pictures from the island:

Couldn't leave this one out... I'm dying to go just to speak in Stepbrothers' quotes all day... Is that different from any other normal day? Nope.

Here are a couple of other pictures from our family time. Notice Claire sitting in a high chair for the first time! She also says "mama" now!
