A Bunch of Firsts for Blake!

Well, first of all I have to mention that Blake has two new developments: bottom teeth! Both of them are coming in nicely! He also has started eating oatmeal twice a day and loves it. He is so cute when it is time for his oatmeal. I will have to get some pictures of it and post them next time!

Next, Blake has had his first trip to the pool! He loved it! Alex got in with him, and Blake just stared at the water. He loves his baths, so I am not surprised that he loves the pool. The water was a little cold, but the heaters are installed in the pools now, and it is warmer outside. Next time should be more comfortable. Here are so pictures of this exciting event:

Another first for Blake was going to the beach! Our first trip to the beach was in Nahant, MA. This was pretty unsuccessful. It took 45 minutes to get there, 20 minutes to wait for parking, $3, and 15 minutes to get all set up, only to leave 5 minutes later. Blake hated it! he just started screaming and wouldn't stop! He cried for 20 minutes on the way home, too! We were hesitant to try again, but we were brave and went to a beach in Quincy, MA today. This time Blake loved it! He wasn't a huge fan of sand, but he loved watching the water and looking around outside. It was pretty hot outside, but there was a slight breeze and we had a beach umbrella. We were able to stay for about 3 hours with minimal fussing! Here are some pictures from today (by the way, notice his bathing suit is pretty perfect since today is the fourth of July!):

Look at that spit coming out of my mouth!

One more first for Blake: He has now been to New Hampshire. We spent Sunday shopping there because there is no sales tax - how weird is that?!

Our New Place

I finally have pictures! Our stuff is pretty much unpacked so I was able to get our apartment looking decent. We are living in an apartment complex that is fairly large on the "garden" level (which is basically the basement level). Coming in from the front of the building you have to go down stairs, but there is in a door out the back of the building that is level with the ground. This is especially nice because taking the dogs out with Blake is a pretty big hassle. I don't want to have to add stairs to an already difficult task. We also have an attched one car garage, which is being used for storage. You will get to see how full that is in my pictures... not suprising since we came from a four bedroom house to a two bedroom aparment. Here you go:

We Have Arrived!

Well, we are finally moved in... sort of. Still working on some unpacking. Along with our 2 bedroom apartment, we have a one car garage stuffed completely full of our things! I never knew we had so much stuff, and the movers said we did not even have that much!

Getting to our new place was quite a hassel. We brought our chest freezer full of breast milk (because you know that stuff is precious). This means that anytime we stopped on our 17 hour drive, we had to keep the truck running or unload everything in it to plug the freezer in an outlet (the freezer was rigged up to run off of the truck). We stopped at my parents' house and 2 hotels along our way, which means EVERYTHING was packed and unloaded three times and then a final unload. And that was just what we brought. PAIN IN THE BUTT! But it could have been worse. The movers brought the rest of our stuff here, so that was helpful. However, we arrived Monday and did not get our stuff until Friday. That means we stayed in an empty apartment that long. Very interesting.

Alex starts work tomorrow, so wish him luck! Pictures to come on an upcoming post...

Time is Running out...

Well, the motorcycle is now sold. SOMEONE BUY OUR HOUSE!!! This is the main thing we have left in order to be completely settled and comfortable in our move. The movers come Thursday to pack our stuff, Friday to load it, and then we are off! We are signing our lease on Monday, and our stuff will be delivered sometime next week. We have a way to get my freezer full of milk (super important!) out to our new place as well. Everything seems to be falling into place, except for the fact that I feel like every time I get one thing done another thing that I need to do pops up! Tomorrow is going to be super busy. So, so many things to get taken care of before our stuff is boxed up. Wish us luck!

What a Great Weekend!

This weekend was a wonderful weekend! To start, Alex had his going away party on Friday at The Crazy Horse. It was a lot of fun, and many of his friends came to wish us well. Saturday was a sad day... we sold the boat. Not only is it sad that the boat is gone, but we had to pay to get rid of it... ugh. Now we just have to get rid of the motorcycle, and more importantly, the house. Saturday night we had a great visitor! Bryan came to meet Blake and visit. We got pizza and played Guitar Hero (which I haven't played since before I was pregnant with Blake!). I officially SUCKED at Guitar Hero. I could only make it through one song on expert... Lame. On Sunday, Bryan, Alex, Blake, and I got to hang out with Amanda and Jason. Amanda was looking fabulous (she is pregnant and due in July!). I swear I never looked that good pregnant...  To finish up the weekend Alex went golfing at French Lick with friends, and my parents came to visit. Did I mention the weather was fabulous as well? Overall, I am glad this weekend went so well because it was potentially our last one in Bloomington! It looks like we will be headed out to the east coast later on this week or next weekend. We are sad to leave our friends and family, but how can we pass up an opportunity for Alex to further his career and allow me to stay home with Blake?! It will be a huge adjustment, but it will be pretty fun to be with Blake every day! Today, I am leaving you with a few pictures from our Boston trip a couple of weeks ago:

Big News!

Well, I guess it is time for an announcement. We are moving to Massachusetts in less than two weeks! Alex has taken a job in Boston, which will allow me to become a stay-at-home mom! I am extremely excited to spend my days with Blake! Plus, there is so much to do in Boston! We are moving to an apartment that is 30 minutes from the beach and 25 minutes to the city. It is pretty stressful right now trying to sell our house, boat, and motorcycle in preparation for the move, but it will all be worth it for Alex's happiness in his job and the opportunity to be with Blake. I have been slacking on posting new pictures of Blake so here are some recent ones:

Just checking my email..

My Baby is 4 Months Old!

I took school off today to watch Blake and take him to the pediatrician. Everything looks great! He is 13 lbs. 10 oz. (25th percentile) and 26 in. (90th percentile). He is functioning as a 6 month old which is awesome. He laughed the whole time we waited for the doctor, until it was time for the shots. Then came the screaming. Last time he got shots, he screamed ALL night. This time, I gave him Tylenol before, so I thought it might be different. It was not quite as bad, but he still spend the evening whining and crying. I felt so bad for him, but what can you do? I hope this is not a look into the future with how he will be with ALL his shots.

Here he is BEFORE going to the doctor (and before ruining his cute outfit). I call this the calm before the storm.
